The Military Transport Aircraft (MTA) division is producing solutions designed to meet the differing needs of the world’s air forces for tanker/transport aircraft and electronic mission aircraft. MTA has recognised the wide range of requirements and offers customised solutions based on members of the Airbus family of commercial aircraft.

For Multi Role Tanker Transport (MRTT) missions two Airbus platforms are proposed: the tried-and-tested A310-300 and the best selling A330-200.

In-flight transfer of fuel can be carried out by a combination of methods: by hose and drogue systems, via wing pods and/or a central fuselage refuelling unit, and/or by an advanced aerial refuelling boom system. These systems enable air-to-air refuelling (AAR) of any type of receiver in service today that is provided with an AAR capability.

Both the A310 MRTT and the A330 MRTT offer a series of solutions to meet the differing transport/logistic support needs of governments and air forces. For passenger carrying, configurations are available for the transportantion of VIPs, troops and casualties, including stretchers and intensive care units. Both MRTTs can be configured for all-cargo or combi roles and can carry all the types of commercial and military containers and pallets in use today.

MTA is also proposing platforms based on the A318/A319/A320/A321 family to do electronic mission roles such as Air to Ground Surveillance (AGS) and Maritime Patrol Aircraft (MPA). Customized state-of-the-art military avionics are incorporated into all military derivatives based on Airbus aircraft.

MTA is happy to fulfil the requirements of individual customers and welcomes the opportunity to work with governments and local industry to defilne the most appropriate in-country workshare and technology co-operation.
